WTN: Montgras Reserva Carmenere 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Aug 23, 2009 6:58 pm

Colchagua Valley

Very dark red in the glass.

Earthy, berries on the nose.

Black cherry, raspberry, rich, spicy, thick and mouthcoating, quite dense, red licorice, smoky, good acidity, a bit of a bitter edge, fleshy, jammy, black licorice, somewhat cooked-stewed, with some of the 14.5 per cent alcohol showing through.

Rich berry fruit, roasted and drying on the finish.

Purchased at $12.95 (Canadian) and a steal at that price.

While some of your descriptors were quite nice I am having a hard time aligning the two snips above with the third one.
