WTN: Coppi Peucetico Primitivo 2001

by Bruce Hayes » Mon Aug 17, 2009 7:07 pm

DOC Gioia Del Colle
Puglia

Dark purple in the glass.

Stewed cherry on the light nose.

Fairly thick in the mouth, tangy, slightly stewed black cherry, raspberry, apple and tomato, drying, black licorice, blood pudding, soft and round in the mouth, spicy, tarry, with some harshness and roughness toward the end.

Apple on the mouthwatering finish.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian) and very good value for an aged Primitivo.
