- 1999 Peter Michael Les Pavots - USA, California, Sonoma County, Knights Valley (8/16/2009)
Still dark purple core, lightening to dark red at rim. Nose has added complexity over the past year, with cassis, plum, cedar, and some hints of green and iodine that enhance rather than detract. Medium body, ripe currants and plums on the palate with hints of iodine follow the nose, nice aciditiy keeps it fresh and tannins contribute to a well-balanced wine, nice finish, should continue to drink well for at least another 5 years, excellent.

No bitterness? I've had a couple of vintages of this wine (1997 & 1999) and noted oaky bitterness both times.

Yes, some tannic bitterness was there, more noticeable after the wine got more air actually. Didn't stand out as particularly prominent.
