Victoria Block
Barrel Fermented
Prince Edward County
Deep yellow in the glass.
A shy nose, some oak, lemon and spicy.
Quite thick and oily in the mouth, spicy, lemon, apricot, pear, good acidity, caramel, obvious oak, honeyed, very big and rich.
The wine matched very well with two challenging dishes: my wife had a Seafood Risotto (pan-seared shrimp, scallops, lobster tail and aged cheddar) and I had Pork Tenderloin (yukon gold & sweet potato galette, roasted baby carrots in a
Niagara Baco Noir icewine reduction).
Purchased from a restaurant wine list for $50 (Canadian).
