EaglePointRanchWnry Syrah MendocinoCnty (14.4%) 2005: Very dark color; strong blackberry/Syrah pungent/licorice some vanilla/pencilly/oak bit peppery/spicy/smokey very attractive nose; tart fairly rich bit tannic strong blackberry/Syrah/licorice slight earthy/tomatoey some vanilla/oak/pencilly slight peppery flavor; very long blackberry/Syrah/blueberry/cola light pencilly/vanilla/oak/mocha some tannic/hard finish; still needs 2-5 yrs; this wine is starting to get into a really good place now; speaks strongly of Syrah w/ some Mendo terroir; great price at $21.00
