2002 Navarro Methode A L'Ancienne Unfiltered Pinot Noir
I picked up a six pack of these during a visit to the winery a few years ago. Lovely wine that has most definitely improved over the years and was a great match with grilled pecan encrusted salmon filets the other evening.
Dark garnet in the glass with aromas of plum, red cherry, blackberry, a wisp of smoky incense and a tiny hint of cola. Very nice on the palate with the salmon. No noticeable alcohol despite being 14.2%, somewhat rich in fruit but with enough acid to pair nicely with a fatty fish like salmon.
Another great wine from Navarro. If you have never visited them or tried their wines, I would encourage anyone to do both.
