WTN: 2005 Donnhoff Estate Riesling QbA

Lovely aromatics, light body, bright acidity and just the barest hint of sweetness make this refreshing, easy to drink and very complementary to food (sushi tonight). Well made Riesling that is clearly in the style of Donnhoff.

It's also quite good, and a bit richer than the '05 as '06 was a relatively "heavy" year.

Loved this wine when I had it a couple of years ago, still sounds really delicious - Donnhoff's QBA in some years like 05 is a really ridiculous value and hits well above its labelling/price point. The 07 is also a real stunner (and IMO as good as a bunch of higher priced Spatlese that year.)

Indeed Salil - though you have to be in the mood for a feinherb/halbtrocken style of wine to enjoy the Donnhoff QbA to its fullest.
