WTN: Black Prince Winery Cabernet Franc Reserve 2007

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Jul 19, 2009 7:14 pm

Prince Edward County (Ontario)

Light cherry red in the glass.

Smoky, candied cherry fruit, vanilla and a hint of veg on the nose.

Medium bodied, stewed-candied cherry fruit, smooth in the mouth, a vegetal streak, smoky, chocolate, vanilla, tangy acidity, some harshness toward the end.

Light chocolate cherry and some harshness on the finish.

The wine started out quite light, thin and disjointed but, with time, it gained weight and intensity of flavours. From and up and coming Ontario wine region.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian)
