A very thoughtful & thought-provoking article by JonBonne (one of my favorite writers) on the smoke taint in 2008 reds from the fires in Mendocino & Humbolt counties. I loved the quote from Mary Elke: "Never tell a kid not to put a bean in his nose". I've heard of some pretty good Kansas colloquialisms...but that's a new one for me. Jon suggests that we just consider the smoke taint a signature of the terroir in 2008. Works for me!!!
