It's awfully hot here this evening, and what better to open with leftover sosaties than a nice South African white, fresh from a 15-minute power chill in the freezer. The sosaties, dismally sweet due to a disappointing recipe that called for marination in apricot jam, needed a good dose of curry powder, which sure did perk them up nicely.

13% alc. Lovely clear bright straw colour with a greenish glint. Lots of effervescence along the inside of the glass. Tropical fruit aromas (pineapple, green apple too) are backed up by a bit of green beans as well. Brilliantly crisp and dry, lithe and refreshing. A great food wine, and actually more enjoyable than the Chenin that I served alongside the sosaties a day earlier. Great structure and warmth; a most enjoyable Sauvignon.
