WTN: 1995 Coudoulet de Beaucastel
Posted: Mon Jul 31, 2006 10:08 amEvery once in awhile they make an especially good vintage of this second wine, made from grapes from 'across the highway' on the other side of the demarcation line for the AOC. This is such a vintage.
Good colour, a nose of blood and jammy vanilla, with dark fruit and a little pepper, very smooth in the mouth, low acidity and some remaining soft tannins. Will not improve; may continue to hold.
I think that I prefer this to the touted 1998, at least so far.
