85% Merlot and 15% Carmenere.
My wife and I haven't seen much of each other lately due to our work schedules so we were both off last Friday and I decided to make Osso Buco for her. This wine is one of her favorite merlots and, in an attempt to woo my fair maiden; I served this wine with the Osso Buco, which she's never had, with gremalota and saffron risotto. The wine paired beautifully although not a classic match. Very dark purple with cassis, dark fruit flavors, dark cherry and a just a touch of chocolate and earthiness. The wine has a linguring finish with plenty of fine grained tannins that should allow aging for some years. Very nice late afternoon meal with my sweetie. 14.5% Alc/vol. $22
