  • 2004 Cooperativa Agricola Santa Barbara Barbaglio Salento IGT - Italy, Puglia, Salento IGT (6/19/2009)
13,17€; 13,5% abv. Sweet and savoury scent: bright red fruit, very floral, earthy and balsamic. Quite full body, sweet and ripe and expressive yet also with a lovely structure of soft yet obvious tannins, racy acidity. Long and refreshing despite the overt, sweet fruit. Very nice!
  • 2006 Éric Texier* Côtes du Rhône - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône (6/19/2009)
c.12€; 13,5% abv. This smells of physalis peruviana: ripe, sweet, orange/dark fruit yet savoury and bright at the same time. For a Southern Rhône blend, it is very racy with a lovely refreshing lift to the otherwise ripe and sweet and fruit.
  • 2007 Alain Graillot Syrah Tandem Domaine Ouled Thaleb - Morocco, Ouled (6/19/2009)
12,05€; 13% abv. Much like my first taste - a ripe but classic Syrah aroma of dark fruit - except more harmonious with some peachy but savoury scents like I remember from the 2006. Primary fruit, good structure, refreshing despite the overt fruit. Excellent wine for the price (only 12€!).

I have cellared 06 Brezeme Cotes du Rhone by Texier, think it's a wonderful wine for the money. :)
