WTN: The Lucky Country Shiraz 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Jun 14, 2009 8:22 pm

Barossa Valley
Two Hands Wines

Very dark purple in the glass.

A very rich nose: berry, cedar, black cherry, spicy.

Weighty and thick in the mouth, chocolate, fleshy black cherry, raspberry, blackberry, currants, peppery, dense, sweet, good acidity. With time, the wine became pepperier and showed more of an acidic edge.

A long finish, with berry fruit and spices.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $17.95 (Canadian).

The last one I had was the 2003 which was awful...at least this one provided some pleasure.
