Vin de Pays Florina, Greece

100 per cent Roditis

Dark yellow in the glass.

Spicy, honey, pine resin and floral on the nose.

Fleshy apple, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pear, tangy acidity, very clean and refreshing, honeyed, peppery, medium weight, fresh, quite rich and classy.

Peppery, grapefruit rind and a bitter streak on the finish.

A delicious wine.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

Thanks for the notes, Bruce...definitely interested in all the Greek wine notes I can find:-) Wondered about the pine resin aroma...do you think that it's just incidental or is it similar to retsina, where they add actual pine resin to the wine?

I am guessing the pine resin notes are incidental.
