Chateau de la Mulonniere is a new name for me so hopefully someone might be able to give some imput...Tim, Jim? Think I read that Guy Saget recently took control? Hard to describe the bottle shape, maybe I can find an image on the `net?
WTN: `06 Anjou Blanc, Ch de la Mulonniere.
100% Chenin Blanc, dry, could use some mineral tones maybe? Hint of honey on the nose which took 30 mins to open up. Also found some peach and a little apricot. The finish improves over an hour period, it was OK but nothing exceptional.
WTN: `05 Rouge Anjou Villages.
Aaagh, this is more like it. Guess 100% Cab Franc but might be some Cab Sauv, very tannic on opening but has a future that is for sure! Dense centre color with a watery cherry rim. "Cracked pepper over raspberries" from a fellow taster. Good alcoholic bite, stone/slate feel about it. Nice blue fruits under all the tannins, spicy too. This red has good grip, maybe more of a rustic style but will show nicely in time. Fair amount of sediment here, more like tartrates? Oh, $25 Cdn.
