No idea. It's been in the 90's here but is expected to cool down. I may have to dig out a light "summer red" to welcome our return to normalcy. Maybe a Brun Bojo?

Tonight: '07 Bernhard Ott Fass 4 GV because I'm cooking some nice asparagus that I picked up at a farm. For the rest of the weekend, not sure.

Friday night is usually golf league and beer but I'm not in the lineup tonite. So we're doing a little cleaning around the house before going out. Opened a Beckman Vineyards Cuvee Le Bec, a GSM blend.

Saturday night we will attend a wine tasting and dinner at the golf club. I'm not sure what is on tap there.

Sunday will probably be pinot noir with grilled Copper River salmon. Maybe a white with some grilled soft shell crabs too.
Cheers!

Well, tonight I had Unibroue "Maudite" and Clear Creek Distillery Eau-de-vie of Douglas Fir. And the night is yet young.

That's about as far ahead as I plan.

Yup, but didn't bite - not keen on getting any wine shipped up here before late September/October at least, and I'm trying to cut back my German buying until the 08s come in (that said, I was tempted for a moment by some of the prices on the Schonlebers - like their wines a lot, and the Fruhlingsplatzchen tonight was great.)

Three from Catena: Catene Zapata Adrianna and Nicasia Vineyards, also Catena Alta, all from the '06 vintage. Good juice....

That sent me looking on the web. I actually have a bottle of their Grappa in the cellar (that I eye with much suspicion from time to time) so know just enough to believe they might actually make an eu-de-vie of Douglas Fir, but still I had to check. And they do! Pale green, colored by the spring buds of Douglas Fir that flavor the brandy. Wild!

Tonight, the 07 Breton Bourgueil Nuits d'Ivresse that I picked up this afternoon at a tasting of natural Loire wines. After tasting through the lineup of 12 producers am not sure how long I will last. Will see what happens...

I lasted a good while at tonight's party. And the Breton was slightly pricklier than the bottles from this afternoon. But it was still pretty darn delicious!
