Last week with escargot we had the '06 Michel Magnien Morey St.-Denis Tres Girards[. With a 2 hour decant, this was exceptional. Just what you would wand in a CdN Village wine and more. Still showing promise for a slight improvement, but just exquisite now.
Tonight we opened the Chateau Bonnet '07 Entre-Deux-Mers as an aperitif with Boursin and crackers. This is "on point" and a layered and perky Bourdeaux.
After which we opened a wine we brought back from the Loire valley last year, Domaine Filliatreau '04 Samur-Champangy. This seemed to have "all the bases covered" and was perfect with some Cabot sharp cheddar and olives.
Then with chicken w/portabello mushrooms we finished a bottle of '06 Arlaud Chambolle-Musigny. This seemed to be not quite as good as last night, when I opened it. It might need more time, but a very nice wine, none-the-less.
All in all, a nice Memorial Day Weenend!
