One of the more recent wineries to go commercial, Ross Andrew is a Woodinville area winemaker who, based on what I tasted in his cabernet and this wine, seems bent on making serious, focused and more traditional style wines. Betz-like.
The pinot grigio is very very good: pale/transparent, lean and racy, pear and subtle lemon, complex, seems unwooded, floral perfumey in the nose and on the palate as if it's been supplemented with a bit of semillon, and here's the greatest thing about it: only 13% alcohol. I'd almost given up thinking that was possible in this state. Along with the Bunnell, whose style is more Alsatian, this is one of the best Washington PG's I've had so far.
