This is the second-tier of the Mondavi-Frescobaldi wines. A quick internet search shows no one else ever having tasted this stuff. Couldn't find any info on the blend or much else on this wine. I picked it up at a sale at the Woodbridge winery in Lodi four or five years ago. Can't remember what I paid for it, but everything they had on sale was ridiculously cheap. 13.5% alcohol. From the Toscana IGT.

Dark red. The nose shouts "Eh, paisan!" with its bright red fruit, earth, and Italian herb mix aroma. Taste-wise, it has a lot going on. Darker red fruit initially that brightens up as the acidity makes its presence known. Some smooth tannins pop up in the mid-palate along with that herbaceousness but the acidity is what really keeps it going. It all hangs in there for a finish that's reasonably long and a touch sour. Went well with ribeyes that were seared in a skillet and finished in the oven.

Darn good stuff. Wish this wasn't my last bottle.
