D’Arenberg
McLaren Vale
Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvèdre

Decanted for about 40 minutes before supper.

Very dark red in the glass.

Spicy, red licorice, tobacco and some bitterness on the nose.

Spicy, raspberry, strawberry, cinnamon, red licorice, peppery, good tangy acidic edge, smooth, full in the mouth, rich, smoky, hard red candy, cherry cough drop, menthol.

Mouthwatering, cherry, raspberry and red licorice on the long finish.

A very impressive wine.

Purchased at $39.90 (Canadian) in December, 2002.
