WTN: little 90 Pomerol

by Dale Williams » Thu May 21, 2009 12:46 pm

Came back from Burgundy tasting (spit everything except Lafarge Chenes, Mugnier Chambolle, and a little Champagne) to help Betsy by grilling the lamb chops. Nice patio meal with broccoli rabe, carrots, pasta and the 1990 Ch. Bourgneuf (Pomerol). Yes, this is the same as Bourgneuf-Vayron. Warm plummy fruit, just a hint of '90 roasted, resolved tannins, ok finish. This is my last one, just beginning the slide, but has been a nice wine for the price for many years. B

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
