WTN: Pay D'Oc Cabernet

2005 Le Grange de Quatre Sous "Lo Molin" Vin de Pays D'Oc Cabernet Sauvignon. Kermit Lynch imports this.

Quite dark in color. Roasted black fruit on nose...there is a wall of tannins here, but they are not sharp or obtrusive and the wine still tastes "good" in an austere way when popped and poured. By the end of the evening, the tannins are relenting and there is some very pleasant cherry fruit and savory notes on the finish showing through. The alcohol is California level (14.5%) but does not show through very much at all, even on the nose. Nice wine.

I hate to say it, but very few California Cabernets at $22 would give this much pleasure. 89 points.
