Yes, this is a critter label.
Yes, I should have known better.
Yes, I will be returning the second bottle I purchased.
No, I probably haven't learned my lesson.
Yes, there is a good chance I will, at some point in the future, buy another critter label wine.

Dark purple, almost black, in the glass.

A lovely nose: tarry, spicy, roasted. With time, these all disappeared and the nose only revealed heavily charred notes.

Roasted-charred, medium weight, quite thick in the mouth, fleshy black cherry, blackberry, cranberry, rich and dense, an acidic edge, showing some heat and shrillness towared the end.

With time, the burned-acidic bitter edge increased in intensity and dominated, despite the best efforts of the fruit.

Burned-charred notes on the finish.
