The 2007 Helfrich Gewurztraminer is the real deal at $10. Sure I have had many Gewruztraminer better but not at that price. Lots of spicey pear, a bit of lychee and a hint of rose petal, the beauty of this wine is in the balance and acidity, which is very fine. If anyone knows of an excellent Alsatian Gew. in this price range I'd like to know about it as this is one of my favorite varietals. Consumed at lunch with Mala Chichen (think spicey hot) I really loved the match.
