WTN: Chateau Taillefer 2005, Brancaia Chianti 2006

More interesting wines from the Repertoire dinners at Cafe Ysabel. Both wines supplied by Aaron.

Chateau Taillefer 2005 - From Pomerol. 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Extremely dark. Very concentrated and dense with tremendous ripe fruit. Warm and spicy. Dry, tannic finish with good length. Good to drink now if you like your Bordeaux young but this definitely has the capacity to age. Very good.

Brancaia Chianti Classico 2006 - Quite dark. Smoky meat. Firm, tannic with a slight woodiness apparent. A mid to heavy weight wine. A little bitter on the finish. A bit disjointed but this is very young so it should get better integrated with time. Good now but with potential to improve.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
