Les Heritiers du Comte Lafon

Can anyone tell me the difference between Comte Lafon and "Les Heritiers du Comte Lafon". Is Les Heritiers a second label? I served the 2003 Lafon Les Heritiers Chardonnay Clos de la Crochette last night and it was quite good for $20.

My impression is just that they've reserved the Domaine des Comtes Lafon label for the Cote d'Or wines that they've historically produced, and use the Les Heretiers du Comtes Lafon for the property they recently purchased in Macon. Plus not listing it as Domaine means they can add purchased grapes/juice, but I think this is mostly estate wine. I could be wrong, though. But it's definitely same people.

Oh, and I agree good quality. I mostly see on good restaurant lists, and the wines have been comparatively good deals

Dale,

Thanks! I'd be surprised if you can find better Chardonnay for $20.

well, maybe Brun Beaujolais Blanc for my tastes, but totally different style. Pernot Bourgogne? Anyway, the LHdCL wines are fine values in any case.

Tried the 08 Brun Beaujolais Blanc at the Dressner tasting week ten days ago in San Francisco. If you like unoaked chard it's awfully good juice. :)
