Lur-Saluces "Y" 1979

by MichaelRedhill » Sun May 03, 2009 2:36 pm

Good evening all.

I've been offered two bottles of Lur-Saluces Ygrec 1979 from a wine collector who is liquidating his collection owing to financial difficulties. The wine has been kept in excellent condition, and he's asking $75 per bottle. I think the price is just fine, but I'm wondering if the Ygrec will have held up after thirty years. I know there's only one way of finding out, but in your opinion, is thirty years too much for this wine, and if not, is this a good-enough vintage to risk it on?

Thanks,

Michael R
