It's simple, you just take something and do something to it, and then do something else to it. Keep doing this, and pretty soon you've got something.

David,

That has been my reaction to almost every Pinot Blanc I have ever tasted.....and has kept me from buying much until lately. Probably my problem arose from an unwillingness to spend the appropriate bucks on a bottle, but they always tasted "blank!"

Attended a wine dinner last fall at the golf club and a PB was in the lineup. First one I ever had with some taste to it, Cindy and I really enjoyed it. Bought 4 bottles. I believe it was a Cuvee Anne-Laure from an Alsatian producer.

Who are decent producers of PB?
Cheers!

This particular Pinot Blanc was much better when itfirst came out. Just a case of aging a wine too long.

Boxler (Alsace) does good Pinot Blanc. Hiedler (Asutria) is good as well.

You didn't add ethanol. So are you saying it's not wine?

It didn't taste alcoholic.

So I guess it's got that going for it.

Jenise is well known for her Pinot Blanc rants, perhaps she has mellowed out there on the seashore!!

As a variation simply leave out the lime zest to make Sancerre!

Try the new Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Blanc. It's entirely blah-free. AND, they just lowered the price from $18 to $14, in the Seattle market at least!

David, was that steinfeder, federspiel or smaragd?

Makes a *huge* difference, as you certainly know ...

Michael,

It was the smaragd. I am tempted to say it was fruit scalping from mild TCA, but Mitch Smith just showed up here. ;)

To foster a respectful dialog on this forum, and with no suggestions from third-parties, Mitch Smith has voluntarily removed a quotation previously found here.
Glad to see my presence, re: TCA, is appreciated, David Bueker. Will you request this board's administrator to censor quotes you made to deflect attention from yourself as you did on eBob?

OK Mitch,

Since you decided to bring it up let's set the record straight. You were using a quote of mine in your signature line to try to make me look silly. I asked you to remove it, and you declined to do so in a timely manner. So I asked Mark to do it. You don't own my comments there or here.

Thanks for listening.
