California
Dark red in the glass.
A fairly unimpressive nose: green and drying at first, changing to tarry and then light chocolate.
Medium weight, good acidity, spicy, fleshy and juicy black cherry, raspberry and a hint of cranberry, cinnamon, light chocolate, round and full in the mouth, fairly rich.
With time, the wine showed a bit more of a biting edge and the fruit became a little stewed, but it was still drinking well.
A mouthwatering finish.
A delicious wine that, I think, will work quite well with backyard BBQ meals this summer.
Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian), which is pretty decent value, compared to most California wines in Ontario.
