WTN: MontGras Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2004

From Chile's Colchagua Valley.

Very dark purple color.

A little closed at first, but it quickly opened up after a glass or two.

Quite rich, intense, chocolate, black cherries, good acidity, round and mouth-filling, violets, cassis, tarry, cocoa, with a moderate tannic backbone.

Finishes dry, with rich fruit and spice.

Screwcap closure.

Not sure why a wine like this sells for only $11.95 Canadian. But, as a wise man once said, sometimes it is better not to ask why.

Psssssb (whisper)..between you and me Bruce, there are some very good wines coming out of Montgras. Tasted a few for the new winelist, not too many duds. The SB is very good!
