VQA Ontario

Cherry red in the glass.

A very odd nose, sort of a combination of strawberry jam and rhubarb.

Medium bodied, juicy and forward cherry, raspberry and red currants, tangy, spicy, red licorice, tobacco, a certain indescribable wildness, drying and lightly tannic toward the end.

For the first half of the bottle, the acidity increased in intensity, becoming rather unpleasant. The good news is that it receeded about half-way through the bottle.

Drying and tart on a mouthwatering finish.

I am not really certain what to make of this wine. I think I liked it.

Purchased at $10.95 (Canadian).
