From K&L Wines-probably should have posted in the "QPR" Wine Focus. Second bottle I have tried at $22.00.

This is pretty much classic in style....despite the hot year in Bordeaux, it is so...restrained. 12.5% abv! On the negative side, there is NOT a lot of fruit here. It could use more fruit. And...there are green notes. BUT: there is a beautful texture and mouthfeel here. Luscious mouthfeel...this Cru Bourg. is ready to go, with plushly soft tannins and I don't see the fruit here for improvement. Solid 85 points-a nice contrast with the frankly awful upper Sacramento Valley wines that we were also sampling last night. (Indian Peak, from above Red Bluff. They had a Sauvignon Blanc that was just terrible simply terrible-acrid and unbalanced and undrinkable)

Has anyone tried the Verdignan 2001? A local supermarket has a stunning offer of them.
