1968 Monte Real Gran Reserva Rioja
Beautiful light floral candied fruit. Some dark undertones. Good concentration but very light profile. Long long finish that turns bitter at the end. Ethereal, pretty, and expansive. At a good age, ready to drink but not falling off. Wonderful wine.

Sounds wonderful, I love reading reports like this. There's something life-affirming about a grand old bottle going the distance.

I had a '68 Rioja back in January as part of a wonderful dinner. Notes ended up in Wine Focus. We also had a '70 at the same dinner. Yum!

Thanks Matt.

I also enjoy reading positive reports on old bottles, especially a Rioja.
