No really formal note, just a quickie to say how much my wife and I enjoyed this wine last saturday with grilled rib eye.
I bought this bottle at a retail price of $39 upon release ($40 was my top bottle price in those days). It sat in my cellar ever since, and was in perfect condition when opened. There were gobs of sediment, which I don't really mind, but I did pour carefully. I found the wine wonderfully complex, fully mature, smooth as could be, with plenty of fruit. I don't believe that the 93 vintage is too well respected, but I wish I had more of this sitting in the basement.
Anyone had one recently?
