WTN: Sandhill Pinot Gris 2007

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Mar 15, 2009 10:01 am

Okanagan Valley.
From a 250 ml carafe.

Medium dark gold in the glass.

Very rich and round in the mouth, spicy, rich pear, viscous, light green apple toward the end.

With time and with food, the wine became a bit leaner and revealed more tangy lemon and tangy green apple, but still quite nice.

Some toastiness and mouthwatering on the finish.

Very impressive.

I like Sandhill's wines, and the multi-faceted pinot grigios that have been coming out of the Okanagan would surprise many a lower Norte Americano who would never believe it based on what happens to that grape south of that border. Good report.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
