13.5% alc./vol. $13.95 at Vintages. High quality, solid natural cork closure.
The wine pours with a solid crimson-garnet hue into the glass; great saturation. Wonderful aromas of green-pepper-tinged blackberries atop forward oak spice and a bright, lively red-berry note. Full, supple and extremely well balanced with much stuffing on the palate; very cohesive texture with fine-grained tannins coating the entire palate and a wonderful peppery spiciness all the way down the tasting profile. Appetizing, refreshing, textured and full-bodied all at the same time.
I haven't had many Carmeneres in the past but this was a lovely find and is an absolute bargain at just five cents shy of $14. Truly, I have had $30 wines that were nowhere near twice as good as this one.
