WTN: La Borgata Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2006

Casa Girelli

Dark purple in the glass.

Not much on the nose, light spice and stewed fruit.

Medium weight, red licorice, spicy, black cherry, raspberry, tangy, quite rich, a mild bitter bite, tarry, lightly floral, herbal (oregano and tarragon).

Spicy and drying on the mouthwatering finish.

A delcious bottle of wine.

Purchased from a restaurant wine list for around $30 (Canadian).

What did you eat with the wine Bruce? I think that is very telling, especially with European wines.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

I had veal parmesan and Debbie had some kind of seafood pasta with a light red sauce. The wine worked quite well with both.
