Nobilo Icon Pinot Noir 2006

I hate like hell to be a traitor, but with all the good pinots around here going for at least 30 bucks a pop I couldn't resist.

Picked the Icon up today at Grocery Outlet for $9.98 per bottle, with a 10% case discount on top of that.

Is that the wine that comes in a bowling-pin-like bottle?

I believe that would be it. Except the top is kind of "squared" off.

The other Pinot at the same price and I think it it as good is Greenstone Point 2007. It also sells for $9.99 and if you order a case in it works out to $7.70 per bottle. It also is from Marlborough. The reason for the deep discount on both the Nobilo Icon Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc is that they are changing the package. So for a little while I was selling it for $9.99. But Grocery Outlet bought all the rest about a week ago. Right now, there are lots of people that don't want to spend more than $15 for Pinot. Another area that has been good is Argentina. I just like finding the best values for my customers. I also do carry more than 100 Pinots from Oregon. I don't feel like a traitor.
