WTN: Las Rocas Garnacha 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Thu Feb 05, 2009 7:39 pm

Bodegas San Alejandro
DO Calatayud

Very dark purple in the glass.

Spicy, sweet fruit, smoky and creamy on the nose.

Thick in the mouth, stewed black cherry and raspberry, very spicy, quite rich, mouth-coating, sweet, cinnamon.

A very impressive wine for the price.

Drying, slightly hot finish.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).

This is a very popular wine in these parts too. Bruce, I'm a little concerned about the price you paid. It runs $9.99 U.S. and is frequently discounted. Either your dollar is sinking faster than ours, or you paid a tad too much.

Cheers, Carl

That is the usual price around here, $16 or so.
