2007 Bodegas Aragonesas, Coto Hayas, Campo de Borja, Rosado ($7.99 U.S. Whole Foods). This was one of the better rosés we’ve had in a while. It presented a bluish red color a little like a Beringer White Zin, but darker almost Pinot-like. There was no hint of orange.
The wine gave you strawberries and red cherries on the nose and upfront. There was more bright red fruit in the surprisingly complex middle along with crisp acidity. The finish was lovely.
We matched it with sliced roast pork loin in its own gravy; sweet potatoes; and sautéed green beans with tomatoes, shallots, and spices. It all went together just fine thank you.
