There are a couple of pieces of legislation before the Indiana State General Assembly that appear to be aimed at liberalizing our strict direct wine shipping laws. Each contains a provision for a direct wine seller to utilize a "third party verification party" for the transaction. It appears this is an effort to overcome the underage drinking argument against direct shipping, but I could be wrong about that, since I have no idea how TPVS works. Can anyone shed some light on these TPVSs and whether they are a good or bad thing as relates to freer wine shipping?
