St. Julien.
Medium-dark red in the glass.
Earth, smoke, leather on the nose.
Medium weight, lightly stewed black cherry, tangy raspberry, smoky, good acidity, lightly charred, spicy, a hint of shoe polish, very rich and earthy in a "forest floor in the fall" kind of way.
Black cherry on the long finish.
A delicious bottle of wine.
Decanted about 25 minutes before supper.
