A pretty purple-red color that appeared opaque with a full glass in front of me.
Exhibits dark cherries and crushed rose petals on the nose. Tastes of vibrant cherries with a lingering finish. Pleasing but lacks complexity. Soft tannins underneath the fruit. This wine seems to have softened since I tasted the wine in 2001. Nice with beef tacos the first and second nights--fruit and attractiveness gone by the third night. Slightly bitter finish. I haven't had very many Savigny wines but this is a favorite to date.

Give it at least several more years in the cellar and it should develop more charm and finesse, which is a nice style too, if not deeply complex.... Different wines for different foods and different moods! ...Paul
