WTN: 2006 Dönnhoff Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spätlese

by Salil » Sat Jan 17, 2009 12:03 pm

I love Kirschheck. It's probably my favourite buy each vintage from the Donnhoff lineup for the value and a sense of sheer drinkability - each Kirschheck I've had has been so accessible and incredibly delicious that it's hard to resist gulping this down within minutes. This one was no different - packed with flavours of cherries, honeysuckle and limes over a bed of slatey minerals. Medium bodied, sweet and silky in the mouth with bright acidity and a long finish that leaves the mouth drenched in cherries and minerals. Still drinking beautifully, very open and a real pleasure.

Kirschheck can benefit from the extra "fatness" that a vintage like 2006 gives to it.
