WTN: Parducci Petite Sirah 2005

by Bruce Hayes » Fri Jan 16, 2009 7:30 pm

Mendicino County

Very dark, almost black, in the glass.

Light vanilla, inky, black fruit, spicy and black licorice on the nose.

Weighty and full in the mouth, raspberry, strawberry, very tangy and drying, tarry-black licorice, peppery, red licorice, quite hard and bitter toward the end.

Tangy, drying, rough-bitter finish.

A disappointing wine.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

Tangy, drying, rough, bitter seem to be my notes about Parducci wines in general. I haven't bought any in half a dozen years.
