Loved it then, and still do. It's the variety for me no matter what.

I did a short tour of the Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma yesterday, and was impressed by the old vine zin I tasted. Zichichi (Zi key key) vineyard (next door to Preston) wowed me with an 07 barrel tasting sample and I purchased a half dozen bottles (to be released in March). As with David, I bought it because it was fabulous wine, rich, distinct, speaking of place. Anyone in the area might want to get up to Sonoma this weekend for the Wine Road Celebration. The Alexander, Dry Creek, and Russian River Valley wineries are having open houses this weekend (info at wineroad.com).
