WTN: Luigi Bosca Reserva Malbec 2005

by Bruce Hayes » Wed Dec 24, 2008 10:39 am

Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza

Very dark purple in the glass.

A lovely, big nose: spicy, bursting with sweet fruit, cedar chocolate, roasted, changing to tangy and smoky later on.

Medium weight, chocolate, black cherry, raspberry, cranberry, a little thin, tangy, smoky, red licorice, tobacco.

Tangy finish.

A nice wine, but I recall a previous bottle being much better.

Purchased at $15 (Canadian).

Did you see my tasting note on the 2004 DOC? I found it a quite appealing wine, even for a somewhat Oakaphobe like myself.
