So I am still on a Selbach-Oster kick, and the wines are still impressing me with every sip. The Rotlay is a parcel that is picked as a block & yields what can only be a concentration of the steep slopes of the Mosel. Terry Theise has already said pretty much all there is to say about this wine, but I can add that for me it's a distillation of apple & lemon cream and at the center a solid mineral base that should sustain this wine for decades to come. It's not the BA style of the 2006, but rather a more (to my palate) perfect expression of auslese. Wonderful wine again.
