How long do these wines last? This is a `86 5 Puttonyos bottled by Hungarvin.

If it was 1886 I'd say it would probably be fine ... 1986 wasn't a great stage in Tokaj's history (just as Communism was going away and before the new investors and innovators came on stream), however, with a 5 putts you shouldn't have any problems at all even if, I think, Hungarvin were the state-controlled co-operative or négociant, not sure. 22 years old is young for a 5 putts Aszu - it will, however, be old-style somewhat oxidative Tokaj I should think.

Hi Bob,
Should be fine (assuming good storage).
I had an 88 last night (6 puttonyos) and found it sound, if unexciting. Certainly sweet, but not showing much complexity. Somewhat oxidised, but that was the style anyway. Showing some age at rim, so I don't expect any great improvement. Drink now.
